December 2021Service of Remembrance and Thanksgiving – Saturday 4th December at St George’s church in Douglas

I am very pleased to announce that our annual service will be on Saturday 4th December at St George’s church in Douglas. The service will be taken by the Lord Bishop Venerable Peter Eagles and in the presence of Lieutenant General Sir John Lorimer and Lady Philippa Lorimer.

We invite anyone whose lives have been touched by organ donation or transplant to come along to this very special service. During the service we invite families to light a candle in memory of their loved one or donor. During which our beautiful talented young harpist Isla will play and photos of loved ones shown on the church screens. Local singing group The Shimmers (formally Luccica) will again be joining us

This year during the service we will be holding The Order of St John Award for Organ Donation which is presented to donor families to honour the incredible gift their loved one gave to save and improve the lives of others. Families will be contacted directly by NHSBT with a formal invitation.

After the service we will be serving light refreshments at the back of church and it gives you the opportunity if you wish to meet other families and members of the Organ Donation Committe.

If you have any questions or have not received your invite from NHSBT please contact Diane on 473600. If you would like a photograph shown please email them to diane.taylor@isleofman.com
