Forthcoming Events

3 December 2022

Service of Remembrance and Thanksgiving.

2.30pm at St Georges Church, Upper Church Street, Douglas.

I am very pleased to announce that our annual service of Remembrance & Thanksgiving will be held on Saturday 3rd December at 2.30pm in St George’s church, Douglas. The service will be taken by The Venerable Irene Cowell, Archdeacon of Man and in the presence of Lieutenant General, Sir John Lorimer and Lady Philippa Lorimer.

We invite anyone whose lives have been touched by organ donation or transplant to come along to this very special service. During the service we invite families to light a candle in memory of their loved one or donor. During this photos of loved ones and donors are shared around the church on the screens.

Our very talented Harpist, Isla will again be playing during the lighting of the candles. Isla plays in memory of her late Aunt who gave the precious gift of life to others. This is the 4th year that Isla has played and I know that she has something very special planned this year.

After the service we will be serving light refreshments at the back of church and it gives you the opportunity if you wish to meet other families and members of the Organ Donation Committee and representatives from NHSBT.

If you would like to share a photograph of a loved one, donor or recipient please email them to diane.taylor@isleofman.com. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me on 473600.
